I Spit on your Grave, 1978. The most brutal in the rape/revenge genre and I got to watch it on the big screen!! A cultnight double-bill with Revenge (2018) (see review Revenge). While there where a lot of laughs with Revenge, the theatre was dead silent with the brutal, cold, vile and dispicable I Spit on your Grave. It was awesome and awkward. It has been more than 15 years since I rented and snuck it past mom and dad to watch it in the dead of night. The ordeal this poor girl has to go through is grueling and takes up most of this flick. It is still as effective as fuck. A real masterpiece of human cruelty and nihilism and the woman that overcomes it all! This should be played at a women’s conference of a “Me Too” gathering.
